We had a gig last weekend and it was great fun. It was our second gig ever, actually our first one with a drummer so things are still a bit shaky. Jordi from Rodeo Rose has joined us on drums and it feels like we are slowly finding our roles in the band. I got a chance to play electric guitar on 8 out of 19 songs which was great fun, I haven’t played electric for 2-3 years. I played on my 1968 Levin LT-18, like last time and my 1977 Greco Spacey Sounds TE-500N which sounded pretty great. I’m already looking forward to our next gig, I think we will play in Barcelona in the beginning of April. Thanks again to Toni from Legends for booking us without actually knowing what he got himself in to, we really appreciate it.

Jackson Browne

Jackson Browne BARTS Barcelona 2015

Last night my wife and I got a chance to see Jackson Browne live. It was even better than I had hoped, his voice was so good. Perhaps the selection of songs wasn’t the best, there was a lot of stuff in the second set that I could have done without and I missed some of my favourites from the first two albums but still, he had a great band and his singing was just amazing. If you want you can follow me on Instagram.

James Taylor

Tomorrow night Araceli and I are going to see James Taylor live at the Gran Teatre del Liceu here in Barcelona. We are very excited, it’s going to feel like a night at the opera.

Jackson Browne

I’m so excited, last night I found out that both James Taylor and Jackson Browne are coming to Barcelona. My wife and I quickly booked tickets for both of them.

Ian McLagan

Ian McLagan
On of my favourite rock stars, Ian McLagan, past away yesterday. His organ playing was a huge part for me in Small Faces and even more so in The Faces with Ron and Rod. I strongly recommend everyone to read Mac’s book, All The Rage, I enjoyed it way more than both Keith’s and Ron’s biographies.

Song of the day

The best version of this Bruce Springsteen classic can be found on The Band‘s 1993 album Jericho

Daniel Romano

Araceli and I finally got to see Daniel Romano last night. It was my wife’s birthday so it was a pretty good ending to her special day. The gig was great, the sound was good and the band was awesome live. The only let down was perhaps that Daniel Roman wasn’t wearing his awesome cowboy suit, but what can you do on a Tuesday in small venue in the north of Spain after a long European tour. I got a chance to say hi to him after the gig and managed to ask the question that has been nagging me since the first time I heard him. What Gibson model is his awesome sounding acoustic, the one with the Daniel Romano inlays over the freatboard? My guess was a re-issue Gospel and it turned out I was right, it’s a 1995 Gibson Gospel.

Video of the day

Awesome concert, they are so floppy and tight at the same time, let’s just call it a groove. Look at Rick’s awesome fretless Ampeg bass.

The Band – Live at the Academy of Music 1971

The Band - Live At The Academy Of Music 1971

I completely missed the release of The Band – Live at the Academy of Music 1971 last year, I just found it on Spotify. It’s an amazing 4 CD box-set with a DVD and I might actually have to buy it, even though I haven’t bought CD’s for at least 5-6 years. Thank you Robbie, even if just did for the money.

Araceli and I are very excited about seeing Daniel Romano live in September. He is doing his first European tour and is planned to play Rocksound here in Barcelona on Araceli’s birthday, the 30th of September 2014.
